Many of us play games to escape from real life. Some of us, however, like to enter a dark place with our gaming. If that's you, man, today's daily Steam Holiday Sale deals are for you. Get slaughtered by the brutal world of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition ($20), then make your way into the hellish landscape of Painkiller ($10), and spelunk your way through the darkest of temples and caves in the Tomb Raider series (50-75% off). Finish things off with one of the gnarliest story twists ever in Knights of the Old Republic ($2.50). Don't worry, though, if you need a lighthearted pick-me-up, Magicka ($2.50) is there for you.
As always, make sure you keep your eyes on the flash sales and community vote sales, as you'll find excellent stuff like Metro 2033 for $5, Skyrim for $30, and the new, but very interesting, Miasmata for $7.50. That is, you'll find those things at the time of this writing. Which is why you should keep checking them out. Oh, and make sure you buy as many indie games as possible. Those devs could use the cash.
