Remember those BlizzCon 2008 plastic cards with the World of Warcraft polar bear mount codes? Remember how there was another code on the back of the card for an upcoming beta test? Well, the astute men and women of Eurogamer noticed today that a a new beta sign-up page has opened up on the U.S. World of Warcraft site.

It's not confirmed which beta program this is linked to, but given the recent comments about a StarCraft II beta being not too far away, it makes a lot of sense that Blizzard's new RTS will be linked to the beta code delivered through this form.
As it may be a while before the invitations are sent for this beta test, we want to make sure you'll receive your invite! Once you enter your information, you should receive a confirmation email. We will email you again once invitations are being sent; the email you receive at that point will contain further instructions. Be advised that it may be quite some time before this beta test begins, and this sign-up may not be for the next beta test to become available. Thank you, and we'll see you in the test!
The form requires a valid email address and takes down some personal information. Quite when Blizzard will see fit to reveal the nature of this beta test remains to be seen.

In the future, cigars are not bad for you.

Bryn says: It's gotta be StarCraft II. C'mon. It's not Diablo III, and it's nothing to do with World of Warcraft (I think) so yeah, my money is on a limited multiplayer test of StarCraft II using the new Battle.net.

If for some reason you think you know more than me, speak up; I'd love to hear your take on the news.
