Crom. It's the name of a fictional deity that I can't read without hearing Arnold Schwarzenegger's thick voice. Krahm! It's also part of the latest update for Funcom's MMO, Age of Conan: Unchained. Welcome to the House of Crom.

Age of Conan went free-to-play in September 2011, and a month later, Funcom reported the new business model attracted 300,000 new players and doubled the game's revenue. It appears the developer put that additional funding to good use, creating one of the biggest content updates ever for the nearly four-year-old MMO.

"The House of Crom adds a large number of new encounters and content for our veteran players," said Game Director Craig Morrison. "With a truly epic location, and amazing atmosphere thanks to the phenomenal lighting advances possible with the DreamWorld engine, we genuinely feel that there are few that can match Age of Conan: Unchained when it comes to this type of content update."

In House of Crom (Krahm!), players explore the remains of a temple created by the Atlanteans and are tasked with unraveling an ancient mystery. The update includes one social and one instanced dungeon, and Funcom refers to them both as the "largest indoor dungeons yet created for the game."

House of Crom is available for download now for premium and free Age of Conan players.
