City State Entertainment wants to Kickstart a DAoC successor.
Ha, you got me, Mark Jacobs. The former
Mythic Entertainment (
Dark Age of Camelot) boss revealed a teaser video for his new project today, Camelot Unchained, and it includes a cameo of sorts that, well, you've got to see it for yourself. The real news here is that Jacobs and his new studio, City State Entertainment, are dreaming of an RvR, MMORPG, three-realm throw down, and they want your help to make it a reality.
Posting on the official
Camelot Unchained website, City State unveiled the project and said they would launch a Kickstarter to support it in March.
So what is Camelot Unchained? Details at this point are sparse, but it appears it will be a modern day Dark Age of Camelot, only without the PvE and completely focused on realm-versus-realm combat with these three realms: Arthurian, Tuatha Da Danann, and Viking.
More specifics should be coming later today when Jacobs posts his first "Foundational Principles" dev blog that will detail his vision for the game. I'll update this post with the dev blog once it's posted.
For now, raise your hand if you'd like to see DAoC reborn. *Hand in the air*
