When I was very little, I would get jealous of the other kids on their birthdays. Why didn't I get any presents? But then I'd get a goodie bag on the way out of the party and forget all about it. Basically, that's what Origin is doing for its 1-year anniversary. And, just like the goodie bags of my youth, the games they're giving away aren't exactly the latest and greatest. But hey, they're free.

Assuming you get a code for your free game in your email (EA hasn't quite made it clear exactly who it's sending codes out to), you'll get to choose between Spore, Dragon Age: Origins, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Spore's not exactly great, but the other two are quite solid, particularly on PC. That is, if you can find a multiplayer match in Bad Company 2. Quit your whining, grab the bag, and run.
