In a press release issued earlier today, Valve Software that its multiplayer zombie-killing title Left 4 Dead 2 has sold over 2,000,000 copies worldwide. With just two weeks of sales during the month of November, L4D2 achieved double the original Left 4 Dead's sales numbers, and saw an additional sales boost from post-Thanksgiving deals at major retailers. Valve VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi is pleased with the positive feedback from the press (and the cash registers), and gives L4D2 supporters even more to get excited about, saying "news regarding L4D2 [downloadable content pack] 1 is coming very soon." Left 4 Dead 2 is available for the PC and Xbox 360.

Tyler says: Left 4 Dead 2 sold well, considering it was facing off against a well-publicized boycott, and Modern Warfare 2 (one of the most anticipated multiplayer shooters of the year). Hopefully, the DLC pack that Lombardi teased will show up sooner rather than later. In any case, I'm going to be late to the Left 4 Dead 2 party: I really love the game, but at the moment, far too many other games are taking up my time. Anyone else feeling the same sense of Left 4 Dead 2 neglect?
