Vancouver Canucks all-star left winger Markus Naslund has signed with Electronic Arts today as the official cover athlete and spokesman for EA SPORTS NHL 2005 game. EA says that Naslund is a perfect fit for the cover of EA SPORTS' NHL franchise's 13th season of world championship hockey.
EA Sports NHL 2005 introduces the new Open Ice Control gameplay mechanic, which promises to give fans the opportunity to play as the hockey greats do by executing offensive plays such as Give-and-Go's and breakaway passes or call for a defensive double team with the touch of a button. The game will also serve up a completely overhauled skating engine - in addition to all this year's venues, NHL players and teams.
Developed by EA Canada, NHL 2005 will be available on the PlayStation 2, the Xbox, GameCube and PC this fall. You can learn more about the game at www.nhl05.com.
