
Pirates love to brag about their game-cracking abilities. Normally this involves dropping a poorly written .nfo file into a pirated game, and then proclaiming some illogical argument about the evil nature of game developers, publishers and/or the government. In an apparent dig at these digital criminals, Starbreeze Studios has included its own .nfo file in the PC version of Syndicate. And the message it contains is straight to the point: "Over a hundred people spent several years of their lives making this game. If you like what you play, please consider purchasing it if you haven't". Fair enough, I say.
The .nfo file also contains information about applying for jobs at Starbreeze (apparently aimed at talented hackers), and also pokes fun at the installation process of pirated games. Starbreeze cheekily states that this is how purchasers of a legitimate copy of Syndicate can get started:
