A note from Square Enix's PR machine hit our inbox late yesterday telling us that the developer/publisher is now accepting beta test applications for Final Fantasty XIV. Only the PC version is currently in the market for new recruits, although PlayStation 3 users will have the chance to apply at a later date.
Applicants must fulfill all of the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a Square Enix ID account
  • Possess an internet connection
  • Be capable of downloading large amounts of data Be capable of submitting bug
  • reports in either Japanese, English, French, or German
  • Apps are being taken for Japan, North America, the UK, France and Germany. The game is still on track for a global release next year for both PC and PlayStation 3.

    Bryn says: Another MMORPG awaits. I'm gonna submit an app just to see how the game's mechanics are shaping up. If it's looking like it'll be a massive grind (i.e. more so than the previous FF MMORPG) then I might have to pass. Still, it's going to be visually stunning I bet.
