Who's got time to barter? Why bother figuring out how many Earbuds some dumb hat is worth in TF2 when you can just spend straight up cash on the item in question? That's what Steam is setting up with their new Community Market, which is officially in beta as of today.

Now, when I say cash, I really mean funds in your Steam Wallet. Which, let's be real here, is where all your money is going anyway. We've got an expensive hobby, and we're PC gamers, after all. So, theoretically, we can now fund our gaming by selling TF2 items on the black market. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a digital stock market to play.

Eventually, the Community market will extend to more games than just Team Fortress 2, but in the beta stage, it'll just be Valve's shooter. You can read up on the Community Market FAQ right here. How do you guys feel about the way that this will affect the market?
