World of Tanks

The wonderful world of time-wasting. Read Review

World of Tanks is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

A flexible system of authentic vehicle upgrade and development allows you to try any of the vehicles and weapons in the game. Whether you prefer to exhaust your foes with fast and maneuverable light tanks, make deep breaches in enemy lines with all-purpose medium tanks, use the force of giant tanks to eliminate opposing armored forces, or become a heavy sniper with long-range howitzers, each unit type has its own advantages and can be extremely effective when operated by a true tank ace.

But being a great tank commander alone isn't enough to win! In World of Tanks, it's all about teamwork. Victory is achieved by combining your combat skills with those of the other members of your team, each playing their own role on the battlefield. Just add your favorite strategy to build your own iron empire and manifest the indisputable authority of the tank! Feel the TANK POWER!

Wargaming Announces World of Tanks eSport Coverage

PC News | Feb 12, 2013

If you think about it, sports don't really vary that much. They're all just competitions to put some sort of object into another object or zone. eSports, on the other hand, can be just about anything. Any multiplayer game you could possibly imagine is capable of being played on a tournament level. But mostly they're just variations of dudes shooting other dudes. The latest in the dude shooting competition is World of Tanks. Starting in the next few months, Wargaming will be launching their very own league for competitive play. There's even going to be prizes! Who doesn't like prizes? Read More »

World of Tanks' 8.3 Update Now Live

PC News | Jan 24, 2013

Still playing World of Tanks? This free-to-play action game is still going strong, and even recently set a world record with over 500,000 concurrent players on a single server in Russia. (Which I have to imagine involves a server shard or group of individual battle servers rather than a single battle, because, well, half a million tanks on one map would make things a bit complicated.) To keep the momentum going, the game recently launched its 8.3 patch, which introduced the Chinese faction into the game, along with 17 new tanks that saw action in World War 2. Well...most of them did, at any rate. Read More »

World of Tanks Adding Chinese Tree

PC News | Nov 7, 2012

We must stop this overpopulation of tanks in the world. Not our world, the World of Tanks. There are simply too many, and this new announcement of a Chinese tank tree joining the ranks isn't exactly going to help. Seventeen new armored monstrosities are rolling into the free-to-play game, and I can't just stand by and let it happen. I'm just going to have to get in there and blow some of them up. Read More »

Update 8.1 Brings the Brits to World of Tanks

PC News | Nov 2, 2012

The British (tanks) are coming! The British (tanks) are coming! In World of Tanks 8.1, a whole new tree of armored weaponry will be dropped onto the battlefield, all from the British Isles. Not only that, there are four revamped maps for you to roll around on. And that's not even mentioning the new premium vehicles to pick up. Oh, and you can buy premium ammo with in-game currency now. A definite doozy of an update, if you ask me. Read More »
