There are versions for just about every electronic device under the sun, but there is only one Plants vs. Zombies. That will change in spring 2013. PopCap Games announced this morning that an official sequel to the addictive 2009 tower defense game is on the way. Get ready to defend your lawn. Again.

PopCap promises a "bevy of new features, settings, and situations" but shies away from sharing any specific details. At this point, we don't even know what PvZ 2 will be called. The studio did, however, share a couple quotes that hint at what the future might hold.

"Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots," noted an unidentified spokesperson. "So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we're freee anytime. We'll find you."

"There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning," said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. "But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!"

Sounds like players will have to manage their plant units a bit more this time around. Should be fun.
