Mission Tips

Since it's your primary method of transportation, take good care of your car. Unlike stolen vehicles (which you can snatch from civilians by pressing the Action key while standing at the driver's door), your own vehicle cannot be taken by anyone else, no matter what. It can be damaged, however, and if this happens, you'll want to stop by a Vehicle Repair Zone to fix it up. These areas resemble gas stations more than anything else, and if you pull up your Map (using the M key, by default), you can click on the appropriate title in the Legend to reveal all the Repair Zones in your vicinity.

Beyond taking good care of your vehicle (and noting where you've parked it), remember that mission destinations may be on rooftops, behind doors just waiting to be kicked down, or on the second or third floors of buildings. Furthermore, you can normally hop out of your car when you're within the destination point's twenty to thirty meter (20-30m) radius. While you're closing in on it, look around for openings within walls, scalable fences, and so on; they're key to reaching your goal in a timely manner.

Additionally, timeliness provides many rewards. Not only will quickly finished missions yield greater rewards, but they'll also lower your chances of being stopped, as you won't give your foes time to find you. They'll be doing their best to hunt you down, and when you get your first All-Points Bulletin, you'll understand why...

APBs (All-Points Bulletins)

At last, you'll be able to participate in this MMOG's starring feature: the All-Points Bulletins!

Occasionally, you'll see a prompt for an assignment, but it won't be featured within the usual black window. Instead, it'll be mostly crimson, and the bottom of the window will indicate the sorts of foes you're up against. Like regular missions, you can take these on by pressing the Accept Offer key. The moment you do, you'll have to rush toward the light blue waypoints indicated on your screen. Sometimes, they'll want you to protect things; elsewise, you may be hunting another player down.

No matter what the goal may be, the mission basics will be similar to those used in the Tutorial Mode. Nonetheless, there's always a chance you'll be overwhelmed. When this possibility arises, make good use of your ability to Call for Backup. By pressing the Backup key (which is, by default, bound to B), you'll send out a call to other members of your faction. Once a healthy number of people join you, your chances of survival will greatly increase, but you'll want to do them proud. kill your foes, defend your turf, and who knows -- the next APB transmitted may be all about you!
